The one and only me!

This fun digital activity will teach your students some easy digital skills and remind them that they have value!
Students can take a selfie or take portraits of one another. Then you can use the PNG file to overlay the PNG frame around the image and add their names to the name plate. You can do this in Photoshop if you have access to it, but it is also simple for students to do it in Microsoft Word or in Google Docs.

In Microsoft Word:

  1. Insert the picture you want to use
  2. Insert the PNG frame
  3. Select the PNG file and in ‘format picture’ click on ‘in front of text’; then you should be able to drag it onto the top of the first image.
  4. You can adjust the size and shape of the frame so it fits around your photo perfectly.
  5. Add a text box over the nameplate and type in the name. Choose 'no line' and 'no fill' so the only the name is visible.

In Google docs:

  1. Insert the image you want to use
  2. Insert the PNG frame
  3. Select the PNG frame and options will appear below, select ‘in front of text’ and then you’ll be able to drag the PNG file up over the first image.
  4. You can adjust the size and shape of the frame so it fits around your photo perfectly.
  5. Add a text box over the nameplate and type in the name. Choose 'no line' and 'no fill' so the only the name is visible.
